Lumacron today announces availability of its Helios DWDM optical intercept, access and monitoring appliance, strengthening further its Zeus Solution Ecosystem of network visibility solutions.
Helios is the first DWDM intercept and access solution to support ITU flexible-grid carriers, facilitating drop and analysis of up to 40 10G, 100G, 200G or 400G wavelengths from a DWDM fibre pair. Integrated signal conditioning and optical channel monitoring extend Lumacron’s unique signal auto-discovery capabilities into the photonic layer, with C-band and L-band support integrated in an ultra-compact 1RU form factor.
“As networks evolve and flexible bandwidth demands soar for next generation datacentre and 5G connectivity, traditional fixed grid or ROADM-based access solutions get left behind” said Alan McDade, CEO Lumacron Technology. “Helios offers full carrier wavelength visibility for even the most demanding next-generation network access scenarios”.
